Report: Wizards set to acquire DeJuan Blair in sign-and-trade with Dallas
The Washington Wizards are on course to finalize a deal that would give them forward DeJuan Blair in a sign-and-trade with the Dallas Mavericks, according to a report from ESPN.com's Marc Stein.
The move comes a day after the Wizards signed forward Kris Humphries, and after the weekend when Washington acquired forward Paul Pierce on a two-year, $10 million contract.
Last year in Dallas, Blair averaged 6.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game. In the playoffs, he upped his game, grabbing 16.4 rebounds per 36 minutes, well above his season average of 10.9.
Blair will join Marcin Gortat, Nene, Drew Gooden and Humphries in Washington's frontcourt. Of the group, only Nene was under contract with the Wizards before Oct. 25, 2013.
