The Chicago Bulls are nearing a deal with free-agent point guard Aaron Brooks, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.com.
Brooks, 29, averaged 11.9 points and 5.2 assists in 29 games with Denver last season after the Rockets sent him there in a trade in February.
He shot 38.7 percent from three-point range for the season.
A first-round pick out of Oregon in 2007, Brooks has played with four teams (Houston, Phoenix, Sacramento, Denver) over six seasons.
The Bulls, who last week agreed to re-sign guard Kirk Hinrich, won 48 games and earned the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference before falling to the Wizards in the first round of the playoffs.
