Lewis, 34, signed a contract with the Dallas Mavericks earlier this week. The contract was reported to be one year for the veteran's minimum salary.
The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 4.5 points and 1.8 rebounds and shot 34 percent from three-point range in 60 games with the Heat last season.
Dallas won 49 games and earned the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference before pushing San Antonio to seven games in the first round of the playoffs.
This offseason, the Mavericks also re-signed forward Dirk Nowitzki and agreed to terms with small forward Chandler Parsons.
