Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez injured his foot and is expected to be out 10-14 days, possibly jeopardizing his ability to play in Brooklyn's season opener against Boston on Oct. 29.

The Nets faced the Sacramento Kings Wednesday in a preseason game in China during which the New York Daily News reports Lopez was "visibly suffering." Lopez was diagnosed with a "mild right midfoot sprain," the team announced.

The team said the injury occurred when Lopez was stepped on some time during the first quarter, ESPN.com reported

Lopez fractured the same foot twice before, including last season. During Lopez' 2013-14 campaign he was restricted to action in just 17 games (all starts), averaging 20.7 points and six rebounds per game.
