Video: Lakers' Wesley Johnson dunks on Nuggets' Danilo Gallinari
Lakers forward Wesley Johnson threw down a massive poster dunk over Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari during Denver's 101-94 overtime victory in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
With a little more than three minutes remaining in regulation and the score tied at 82, Jeremy Lin pushed the ball up the court on a 3-on-1 break with Johnson on his left and Nick Young on his right. As Lin approached the three-point line, he pushed the ball ahead to the high-flying Johnson while Gallinari attempted to shade over and contest the transition opportunity. Johnson elevated without delay, reaching out with the ball in his right hand to finish over the top of Gallinari, who was called for a foul when he attempted to knock Johnson off-kilter.
Replays showed Johnson essentially flung the ball into the hoop, as he wasn't able to fully complete his follow through due to the mid-air contact. This effort easily earns a spot in the early "Dunk of the Year" conversation.

Although Johnson hasn't lived up to the expectations that go along with being the No. 4 pick in the 2010 draft, he has assembled a nice catalog of posterizations, including a 2013 dunk over then-Pelicans forward Lou Amundson.
Gallinari exacted a measure of redemption by hitting a key three-pointer in overtime to help lift the Nuggets to the road win. He finished with 10 points and seven rebounds in 31 minutes off the bench. Denver was led by Ty Lawson, who posted 18 points and 16 assists.
Johnson finished with seven points and 12 rebounds. Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 27 points and added six rebounds, but he missed a potential game-winner in the closing seconds of regulation.
Denver improved to 6-7. Los Angeles dropped to 3-11.
