Video: Mavericks' Monta Ellis nails buzzer beater to defeat Bucks
Mavericks guard Monta Ellis hit an off-balance buzzer-beating game-winner to lift Dallas to a 107-105 road victory over Milwaukee on Wednesday.
With 8.9 seconds left and the score tied at 105, Chandler Parsons inbounded the ball from the right sideline. Ellis received the pass up top with O.J. Mayo defending him, and began the final possession by milking clock near midcourt. At the three-second mark, Ellis drove to his right and then reverse-pivoted back to his left, spinning into a one-legged fadeaway that swished through shortly after the buzzer sounded.
Replays indicated that Ellis released the shot before time expired, and the Mavericks -- including owner Mark Cuban -- celebrated the game-winner on the court before rushing to the locker room as the referees executed a video review.
Milwaukee's players and coaching staff appeared to protest the fact that no travel was called on the play. Replays appeared to show Ellis shuffling his feet before taking two long steps as he rose into his shot.
