San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard is expected to resume basketball activities this week as he nears a return to the court after tearing a ligament in his right hand in December, reports Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski.

According to the report, Leonard mostly likely will be cleared to play in the next two weeks as he works to regain strength in the injured hand.

Leonard was originally injured on Dec. 9 and missed two contests before returning to play two more games. He has not played since Dec. 15, missing 10 straight games.

San Antonio has gone 4-6 in his absence and is currently seventh in the Western Conference with a 21-14 record.

Leonard, the 2014 NBA Finals MVP, is averaging 15.2 points, 7.6 rebounds in 22 games this season.
