The Boston Celtics are negotiating a buyout with forward Tayshaun Prince, two sources close to the situation told SI.com. Though nothing is finalized, one source said the two sides are in the process of negotiating a split.
Prince, 34, was acquired on Monday in a three-team deal with Memphis.
Once bought out, Prince will be an attractive free agent for a team seeking depth at the wing position. Prince averaged 7.3 points and made 45.5 percent of his three-point field goals in 24.2 minutes per game for the Grizzlies this season.
The Clippers, Mavericks and Thunder are among the top contenders who could pursue Prince when he becomes a free agent.
