Hawks' starters named co-Eastern Conference Players of the Month
The Atlanta Hawks' starting five players were announced as co-Eastern Conference Players of the Month for January on Wednesday, marking the first time in NBA history that five teammates have shared the monthly award.
Forward DeMarre Carroll, center Al Horford, shooting guard Kyle Korver, power forward Paul Millsap and point guard Jeff Teague were all honored after Atlanta compiled the first 17-0 record in a calendar month in league history. It is only the second time in league history that three or more teammates have shared the monthly award. The Dallas Mavericks' Michael Finley, Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash did so in October/November 2002.
Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer was also named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for the second straight month.

"We place a strong emphasis on having the right approach every day and making daily improvement. Collectively, we know that we have a lot more work to do this season and look forward to continue growing as a team."
