Donald Sterling adds wife as defendant in lawsuit against NBA
Former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has named his wife, Rochelle, as a defendant in his lawsuit against the NBA, according to the Los Angeles Times.
In a complaint filed last week in a U.S. District Court, Sterling accuses his wife of working "secretly" with commissioner Adam Silver and the NBA as part of a conspiracy to force Sterling to sell the team. Silver is also named individually as a defendant in the suit.
In addition to adding his wife to the list of defendants, Sterling also included a pair of doctors in the revised complaint. Sterling, 80, alleges his wife "fraudently arranged" to have Dr. Meril Platzer and Dr. James Spar examine him last May. Those doctors determined Sterling was mentally incompetent and incapable of maintaining his family trust.

Sterling was banned for life by the NBA and forced to sell the Clippers for Microsoft billionaire Steve Ballmer after his mistress leaked a recording of his racist statements to TMZ. The sale to Ballmer was officially completed in August.
Sterling sued his wife and the NBA in a separate proceeding last summer but withdrew the suit in October.
