StubHub files lawsuit against Warriors, Ticketmaster

StubHub filed a lawsuit against the Golden State Warriors and Ticketmaster in California on Sunday.

StubHub filed a lawsuit against the Golden State Warriors and Ticketmaster in California on Sunday, according to ESPN.

According to ESPN, the lawsuit alleges that the two are "conspiring to create an illegal resale market by telling season holders to only resell through their platform."

StubHub claims that the Warriors have told season ticket holders that they will lose their ticket privileges if they sell their tickets through anything besides NBATickets.com, which is a exchange marketplace powered by Ticketmaster.

According to the report, StubHub also claims that Warriors ticket listings on its site are down 80 percent in the last year. 

"We're not trying to be the industry pariah, but when actions like these are associated with the business impact that we've seen, and the outcry comes from fans who are saying 'our hands are tied,' we are left with no choice," StubHub general counsel Michelle Fang told ESPN.

Golden State is 60–13 this season and currently holds the best record in the NBA. According to ESPN, the Warriors have sold out 118 straight home games.
