Knicks, Magic combine for fewest points in quarter in shot-clock era
The New York Knicks and Orlando Magic combined for 15 points in the second quarter of Saturday night's game at the Amway Center in Orlando, the fewest in a quarter in the NBA shot-clock era. The Knicks ultimately won 80-79.
In the second quarter, the Knicks scored eight points while the Magic scored seven, and the 15 total points surpassed the previous record for fewest in a quarter of 18, which was done three times and most recently by the Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons on March 13, 2005.

The Knicks shot 3 of 20 from the floor in the second quarter, while the Magic went 3 of 19.

For the game, the Knicks shot 37.8% to the Magic's 27.3%. Cole Aldrich led the Knicks with 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Jason Smith and Tim Hardaway, Jr., each scored 13 points.
Magic guard Victor Oladipo led all players with 21 points.
The Knicks have the NBA's worst record at 16-64.
