Pacers beat Wizards, move one win away from clinching playoff spot
The Indiana Pacers defeated the Washington Wizards 99-95 in double overtime on Tuesday, moving one win away from clinching a playoff spot.
Indiana's win eliminated the Miami Heat from playoff contention, marking the first time since the 2007-08 season that the Heat will miss the playoffs.
At 38–43, the Pacers are now one game ahead of the Brooklyn Nets for the No. 8 and final seed in the Eastern Conference. Indiana can clinch the No. 8 seed either by defeating the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday or if the Nets lose to the Orlando Magic that same day.
