Raptors' Kyle Lowry forced from Game 2 loss to Wizards with shin contusion

Kyle Lowry was forced from action early with a left shin contusion during Toronto's 117-106 home loss to Washington in Game 2 of a first-round playoff series on Tuesday.
The Raptors' All-Star guard dealt with back injuries down the stretch of the regular season, but this injury appeared pretty fluky and unrelated. With a little over six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and Washington leading 104-89, Lowry ran into Paul Pierce as he attempted to initiate an offensive possession. Lowry's left leg made contact with Pierce's left leg, and he immediately doubled over in pain. At the next dead ball, Lowry headed for the locker room, departing with six points (on 3-for-10 shooting) and four assists in 27 minutes. Although he would return to sit on Toronto's bench during the game's closing minutes, he did not re-enter the game.

Toronto coach Dwane Casey provided no specific update on the severity of Lowry's injury during his postgame comments, although he did note that Lowry has struggled to regain his rhythm since missing time with his back injury.
[daily_cut.NBA]"He got cracked on his shin," Casey said. "I'm going to check with the trainer when I go back in."
The Toronto Star reported that Lowry will be evaluated on Wednesday.
Washington ran away from Toronto to take Game 2, thanks to 26 points and 17 assists from John Wall, who has totally outplayed Lowry in the series. Bradley Beal added a game-high 28 points and five rebounds.
DeMar DeRozan and Lou Williams led the Raptors with 20 points apiece.
