Giannis Antetokounmpo suspended a game for foul on Mike Dunleavy Jr.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was suspended one game for his flagrant foul on Mike Dunleavy Jr. during Game 6 against the Chicago Bulls.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was suspended one game for his flagrant foul on Mike Dunleavy Jr. during the Milwaukee Bucks' Game 6 loss against the Chicago Bulls. 

Chicago smashed Milwaukee 120-66 on Thursday, and Jason Kidd's squad reacted with frustration when the Bulls raced out to an early double-digit lead. 

Things really boiled over with a little under two minutes remaining in the first half and Chicago leading 58-28. Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee's 20-year-old forward, was ejected after he leveled Bulls forward Mike Dunleavy with a flagrant foul 2. Antetokounmpo intentionally ran through Dunleavy, leading with his right shoulder, as the Chicago veteran was shooting a three-pointer. Dunleavy was defenseless at the point of contact, and the officials immediately reviewed the play.

The flagrant foul 2 designation applies to contact that is deemed unnecessary and excessive, and requires an automatic ejection. Antetokounmpo, who appeared to be retaliating to contact to his throat from Dunleavy on the other end, departed with five points and three rebounds in 15 minutes.

Earlier in the game, Bucks guard O.J. Mayo was hit with a technical foul when he came off the bench to confront Bulls guard Jimmy Butler. Mayo bumped Butler after Chicago's All-Star guard twice attempted to block shots by Milwaukee's players during a deadball situation. Mayo appeared to be sending a message to his team that they wouldn't be knocked out of the playoffs quietly despite the lopsided score.

Dunleavy lead all scorers with 20 points, five assists and four rebounds. Joakim Noah added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

No Bucks player finished in double figures. Zaza Pachulia led the way with eight points and three rebounds in the 54-point loss.

The Bulls advanced to face the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semifinals by beating the Bucks. Game 1 between Chicago and Cleveland is set for Quicken Loans Arena on Monday.
