Reports: Veteran PG Andre Miller agrees to sign with Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to sign veteran point guard Andre Miller, according to multiple reports. RealGM’s Shams Charania was first to report the deal, followed by Yahoo’s Marc Spears.
Miller will be paid the veteran’s minimum of $1.5 million, Stein reports. Next season will be the 39-year-old Miller’s 17 in the NBA. He will turn 40 in March.
Miller began last season wit the Washington Wizards and was traded to the Sacramento Kings at the February deadline. He played only sparingly with Washington and saw a larger role with the Kings. In 30 games in Sacramento, he averaged 5.7 points and 4.7 assists in 20.7 minutes per game.
The Timberwolves have two young point guards for Miller to mentor in Ricky Rubio and rookie Tyus Jones.
