Pacers forward Jordan Hill arrested for alleged reckless driving
Indiana Pacers forward Jordan Hill has been arrested for alleged reckless driving in Atlanta, Ga., team president of basketball operations Larry Bird said in a statement on Friday.
According to the Associated Press, Hill was charged with reckless driving and speeding and taken into custody on Tuesday. Police said he was driving 107 mph in a 65 mph zone and that Hill told them he was “in a hurry.”
“It is obvious we don't condone this,” said Bird. “We will address this with Jordan. This is a major concern of safety, not just for Jordan, but for others.”
Indiana signed Hill to a one-year, $4 million deal earlier this month.
Hill, 28, spent last season with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he averaged a career-high 12 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. A former first-round draft pick, Hill has also played for the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets.
