Zoran Dragic signs two-year contract with BC Khimki in Moscow
Former Miami Heat and Boston Celtics guard Zoran Dragic is signing with BC Khimki in Moscow, the team announced Thursday.
Dragic, the younger brother of Heat point guard Goran Dragic, spent last season in the NBA, his only year in the league.
Dragic signed with the Phoenix Suns in 2014, then was traded along with his brother to Miami in February of this year. This summer, the Heat traded him to the Boston Celtics.
The Celtics waived Dragic on Monday.
ESPN's Marc Stein reported Dragic preferred to return to Europe, where he could receive more playing time. His pro career started in Slovenia in 2004. In two seasons prior to joining the NBA, Dragic played in Spain.
Dragic, 26, rarely played for the Suns and Heat. In 16 appearances, he averaged 1.8 points and 0.5 rebounds in 4.7 minutes per game. He signed a two-year deal with Khimki.
