Video: James Harden, Compton featured in new NBA 2K16 ad

A new NBA 2K16 commercial features James Harden and the story of his Compton upbringing.

James Harden's big off-season has overshadowed his humble beginnings.

The Houston Rockets guard was voted MVP by his fellow players earlier in the summer, and Thursday he signed a $200 million endorsement deal with Adidas. 

The career highlights are a culmination of a journey beginning in the city of Compton. A new commercial for the game NBA 2K16 features Harden's story, going back to his days as a high school and AAU star in Los Angeles.

The ad, narrated by Spike Lee, details Harden's rise from high school stud, to college standout, all the way to franchise centerpiece. It even features some clips of Harden without his trademark beard.
