Adidas, Derrick Rose launch D Rose 6 with home and away versions
Adidas has taken to teasing out its upcoming signature releases, then officially announcing said release months before the actual launch. And with its latest announcement—this of the all-new D Rose 6—comes visuals for the “home” and “road” versions.
But that's not all.
The mainly white home and black away will be joined by five other colorways by the end of the year. The first to launch, the home, will arrive on Oct. 15 and the road launches Nov. 5.
For the second straight release, this Rose shoe features Boost cushioning in the forefoot and heel, a component Rose says he won’t play without. To match the cushioning system, the adidas Fitframe heel cage and external straps were designed for an adaptive fit full of stability. The heel strap also adds a completely different aesthetic and changes the overall silhouette of the Rose line.

Rose says, “Adidas also brought a lot of details about Chicago that I think my fans will love.” Those include the six-point star of the Chicago flag at the base of the laces and six reflective lines in the heel. The diamond pattern upper and faceted eyelets were inspired by the architecture of Chicago.
“Derrick is in a different place than he was a few years ago and we wanted to create a chose that shares his focus to bring a championship home,” says Brian Foresta, vice president of global design for Adidas basketball. “Our close work with Derrick allowed us to design a shoe that reflects his journey and helps build his game.”
