Dwight Howard will not face charges for carry-on gun at Houston airport
Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard will not face charges for having a gun in his carry-on bag at a Houston airport, reports ESPN's Calvin Watkins.
Howard was detained at George Bush Intercontinental airport on Aug. 28 when security discovered a pistol in the bottom of his carry-on bag. According to the report, Howard told law enforcement officials the weapon was his and “he was allowed to give the hand gun to an associate.”
Law enforcement officials contacted the Houston District Attorney's office, which declined to press criminal charges against Howard.
According to the report, guns are “periodically found” at Houston's two main airports, but only a few times are charges filed or arrests made.
