Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant left Tuesday’s preseason game against the Kings with a lower left leg contusion and did not return, the team announced.
Bryant took a knee to the calf on a drive to the rim, walked it off, and remained in the game before checking out, according to Mike Trudell of TWC SportsNet. He then had a brief conversation on the bench and left for the locker room to get it checked.
The 37-year-old has played in just 41 games over the last two seasons because of a fractured kneecap and a torn rotator cuff.
He scored 18 points in 21 minutes in a preseason meeting with Maccabi Haifa on Monday.
Los Angeles finished at 21–61 in 2014–15 for its worst season in franchise history.
