The New Orleans Pelicans have signed veteran guard Nate Robinson to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract, reports John Reid of the Times Picayune.
Robinson is expected to join the team in practice Friday.
The Pelicans are in need of point guard help with starter Jrue Holiday expected to have his minutes restricted early on due to a nagging lower leg injury. Backup Norris Cole is also out for as many as six weeks with a high ankle sprain.
Robinson averaged 5.1 points in nine games with the Los Angeles Clippers after signing a 10-day contract in March. He was let go in favor of Lester Hudson. He started last season with the Denver Nuggets, averaging 5.8 points and 2.3 assists.
