James Harden ‘definitely’ wants to end his career in Houston
James Harden says he wants to retire as a member of the Rockets.
Houston’s star shooting guard told the Houston Chronicle that he planned to spend the rest of his career with the team he has led since 2012.
“Definitely,” Harden said when asked if retiring with the Rockets was his plan. “Definitely it’s going to end here.”
Harden, 26, is signed through the 2017–18 season and coming off the best season of his career, in which he averaged 27.4 points, seven assists and 5.7 rebounds and was voted MVP of the league by his peers (the media choseStephen Curry).

“Obviously, my work place is amazing, people I’m surrounded with, that I come to work with every day,” Harden said. “I’m in a happy place. Fans here in Houston show me so much love and support. Everything is flowing in a positive way right now. I’m all smiles.”
Harden recently threw out the first pitch at an Astros game and showed up at a Houston Cougars football game with new teammate Ty Lawson, who joins the team from Denver this season. He also told the Chronicle he wants to be a “legend” and Hall of Famer.
