Bogut gets championship ring on middle finger, like he said he would
The Golden State Warriorsreceived their championship rings when the NBA season began on Tuesday, which meant it was time to see whether Andrew Bogut was joking when he said he’d ordered his for his middle finger.
In an interview with KNBR radio earlier in October, Bogut said he’d had his ring specially fitted in response to comments made by Clippers coach Doc Rivers regarding the luck the Warriors may have had in winning the NBA Finals.
“I’ve actually got my ring fitted for my middle finger so they can kiss that one,” Bogut said. “I just don’t understand that. We respect all previous champs. We’ll respect future champs. They don’t want to respect us, so be it. We’ve got a ring. We did all the hard work. We know what it takes. We don’t need any more motivation, but if they want to throw some at us, we’ll definitely put it on a board and be aware of that.”

He wasn’t lying.
Bogut got the start against the Pelicans on Tuesday, and scored 12 points before receiving three stitches for a laceration above his right eye. The Warriors, led by Stephen Curry’s 40 points, beat the Pelicans 111–95.
