Cavs’ Iman Shumpert expected to play Friday vs. Magic
Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Iman Shumpert has been added to the team’s active roster and is expected to play Friday against the Orlando Magic.
Shumpert has missed the team’s first 21 games this season due to a right wrist injury. He sustained the injury right before training camp began and underwent surgery to repair the damage.
Shumpert took to Twitter on Friday to announce his return.
Coach David Blatt called the injury “day-to-day” on Thursday, but said he is hopeful Shumpert will be able to make his season debut.
“It’s been a long road. They don't want to rush me back. I don't want to rush back,” Shumpert said Friday. “But it's definitely a feel-out thing. If we go through shootaround and everything is straight, I'm going to try to give it a go.”

Kyrie Irving also joined the Cavaliers on their two game road trip, but is not expected play against Orlando.
Shooting guard J.R. Smith did not travel with the team due to illness. He has been ruled out against the Magic, but could possibly join the team on Tuesday against the Celtics.
The Cavaliers are 14–7 to start the season.
