Lakers’ Kobe Bryant trademarking phrase
Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant is trademarking the phrase “Friends Hang Sometimes Banners Hang Forever,” according to legal website Justia.com.
Bryant, who said the quote at last summer’s BET Awards, filed for the trademark in July. The trademark applies to various goods and services including athletic apparel and nearly everything that can be worn.
In November, Bryant announced that he would retire from the NBA following the 2015–16 season. The 19-year veteran has made 17 All-Star games during his career.
In 33 games this season, Bryant is averaging 17.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists, despite dealing with intermittent injuries.
