Report: Heat trade guard Brian Roberts, draft pick to Portland
The Miami Heat are reportedly trading Brian Roberts to the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Miami Heat are trading guard Brian Roberts and a second-round pick to the Portland Trail Blazers, reports The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Heat acquired Roberts in a three-team trade that sent away Chris Andersen on Tuesday. The Heat also traded Jarnell Stokes to the Pelicans earlier Thursday.
The Roberts trade moves the Heat under the NBA’s luxury-tax threshold, saving them $6 million, reports Wojnarowski. The Blazers have made multiple deadline moves of their own, stockpiling draft picks in exchange for absorbing unwanted contracts into their cap space.
