Report: Suns trade Markieff Morris to Wizards
The Phoenix Suns have traded forward Markieff Morris to the Washington Wizards, reports The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowksi and Shams Charania.
The Suns will receive a protected first-round pick from the Wizards in return, according to multiplereports. Kris Humphries and Dejuan Blair will also go to the Suns, reports ESPN’s Zach Lowe.
Morris, now in his fifth season, was drafted No. 13 overall by the Suns in 2011. He asked for a trade from the Suns last summer, and had clashed with fired-coach Jeff Hornacek and the organization during the season.
Morris is averaging 11. 6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game so far this season. He has averaged 11.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in just over 25 minutes per game in his career.
