Jimmy Butler calls Doug McDermott’s dunk ‘pretty good for a white boy’
Bulls small forward Doug McDermott threw down a surprise dunk in Chicago’s 109–104 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night, and teammate Jimmy Butler expressed his approval after the game.
“Jimmy said it was pretty good for a white boy,” McDermott told Cody Westerlund of CBS Chicago.
McDermott, who is known for his shooting but not for dunking, put down a one-handed slam over the head of Wizards power forward Markieff Morris in the third quarter and went on to make six of 11 shots for 14 points in 29 minutes for the Bulls.
McDermott added in jest that he thinks he deserves an invite to next year’s NBA Slam Dunk contest, according to Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune.
With the win over the Wizards, the Bulls are now 30–26 and in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
