Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James will sit out Sunday’s game against the Washington Wizards on Sunday, the team announced.
James’s day off is a scheduled rest day, not because of any health reason.
Veteran Richard Jefferson will start in place for James, reports Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com.
This is the second rest day that James has taken this season. He last sat out against the Miami Heat on Dec. 5.
The Cavaliers (41–16) are currently first in the Eastern Conference standings.
James is averaging 24.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.6 assists this season.
