Portland Trail Blazers center Meyers Leonard will undergo surgery to repair an injured left shoulder and miss the rest of the season, the team announced Thursday.
Leonard is scheduled to have the procedure on April 8 in Los Angeles.
The 24-year-old big man dislocated his left shoulder in practice on March 16 and has been unable to return to play because of swelling and pain.
The team does not currently have a timetable for his return.
• Pelicans’ Anthony Davis has knee procedure, no shoulder surgery
Leonard is averaging career highs in minutes (21.9), points (8.4) and rebounds (5.1) this season.
