Hornets swingman Nicolas Batum left the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s Game 2 loss to the Heat with an ankle sprain, the team announced.

The Hornets trail the Heat 2–0 after the 115–103 loss, with Game 3 in Charlotte on Saturday. Head coach Steve Clifford told reporters he was “very concerned” about the injury.

Batum lost his dribble against Miami’s Justise Winslow and rolled his left ankle on the play. He headed for the locker room and did not return.

The veteran wing had 24 points in Charlotte’s Game 1 loss but scored just nine on Wednesday. He averaged 14.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists on the season. He will become a free agent this summer.
