Heat center Hassan Whiteside will miss Monday’s Game 4 against the Raptors with a sprained MCL, the team announced.
Whiteside injured his knee during the second quarter of Miami’s 95–91 Game 3 loss on Saturday, when he was pulled down by Toronto’s Kyle Lowry and twisted his knee while trying to box out. He immediately held his leg, walked off the floor and was helped into the locker room.
He is being called “day-to-day.”

Toronto also lost its center, Jonas Valanciunas, to an ankle injury in Game 3. The team announced he will miss the remainder of the series.
Before leaving, Whiteside was 2-of-2 from the field, and hit a pair of free throws to tally six points. Veteran Amar’e Stoudemire took over at center for Miami in Whiteside’s absence.
