Russell Westbrook scored the final basket following a controversial no-call to give the Thunder a win over the Spurs in Game 5.

After Tony Parker missed a go-ahead jumper at the other end, the Thunder led by a point with Dion Waiters inbounding the ball and Manu Ginobili guarding him, hearkening back to the controversial end of Game 2.

Westbrook caught the inbounds pass moving toward the basket and appeared to be fouled by Kawhi Leonard, but the referees held their whistles until he got to the rim and made an and-one layup, with the ensuing free throw cementing a two-possession led for the Thunder.

“[Leonard] pretty obviously fouled him,” Gregg Popovich said after the game. “But every call doesn’t get called.”

The Thunder take a 3–2 series lead with Game 6 in Oklahoma City. Westbrook finished with 35 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Leonard had 26 points, six rebounds, four assists and five steals to pace the Spurs.
