The Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors were without Luol Deng and DeMarre Carroll respectively after injuries in the third quarter of Game 5 on Wednesday night.

Carroll hurt his left wrist when he stumbled in transition with Goran Dragic. The referees called a charge on Carroll. He stayed on the ground before he was assisted off the court and into the locker room by members of the training staff.

The Raptors announced that Carroll underwent an X-ray that came back negative and was ruled out due to a left wrist contussion. He played in just 26 games after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

The Heat announced that Deng would not return to the game as the X-rays were inconclusive.

Toronto held on for the 99–91 victory to take a 3–2 series lead. Deng finished with four points in 24 minutes, while Carroll had six points in 26.

Game 6 is Friday night.
