Sacramento Kings guard Darren Collison has been arrested on a domestic violence charge.
Collison was arrested on Monday, reports CBS Sacramento, and charged with one count of inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant. Collison was arrested after police responded to a woman who said she was being assaulted inside a home in a Sacramento suburb.
“We’ve been made aware of the situation,” the Kings said about the arrest in a statement. “The Sacramento Kings condemn violence of any kind. We are gathering additional information and once all facts are known we will take appropriate steps.”
Collison recently completed his second season with the Kings, playing in 74 games. He averaged 14 points, 4.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game in 2015–16.
Collison is under contract for one more season.
