Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban can profit off of titles by the San Jose Sharks and Golden State Warriors, reports ESPN’s Marc Stein and Darren Rovell.
Since Cuban invested $40,000 into the “City of Champions” trademark in June 2010, he will profit off of the sale of championship merchandise should the teams win the NHL and NBA titles, respectively.
“If the Mavs don’t win, at least there is always a chance for a win in there somewhere for me,” Cuban told ESPN.com Wednesday.
The Sharks already face a 2–0 deficit in the Stanley Cup Final, while the Warriors begin the NBA Finals on Thursday night.
