Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr lost his cool during the Warriors’ 104–89 Game 1 victory, shattering his clipboard after slamming it with his pen during a timeout.
The moment came after the Cleveland Cavaliers went on a 7–0 run to cut the Warriors lead to four points with 8:03 left in the third quarter.
Golden State looked to be in control heading into halftime, coming out of the locker room with a 52–43 advantage. However, that lead was quickly erased, capped off by the Tristan Thompson layup that led to Kerr calling the timeout.

“Destruction tends to ease some of the anger,” Kerr said. “I try to take it out on a clipboard instead of a player.”
The Warriors defeated the Cavaliers despite Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combining for 20 points, which is their lowest scoring output of the season. Reserve guard Shaun Livingston scored a playoff-career and team-high 20 points for Golden State.
