Kicks and Colors spotlights the variety of colorways—and the stories that go with—that brands unveil in key basketball sneakers.
Brand: Under Armour
Sneaker: Curry Two
Signature athlete: Stephen Curry
Colorway: Black Knight
Story: Does Stephen Curry’s superpowers have enough strength to save an entire city? What about the Bay Area? Under Armour believes so, announcing Saturday's release of the Curry Two Black Knight, a mix of black and yellow “inspired by the average person who rises up and becomes brave enough to do what’s necessary to protect the city and community they are representing.” While Curry continues to play in the recently debuted Curry 2.5, a sneaker he started wearing at the end of the regular season and with slight modifications from the star’s second signature from the Baltimore-based brand, Under Armour has remained on track with the Curry Two by rolling out a growing mixture of sneakers. Curry has helped save Golden State many times. Will he need to do it again?
