The Cleveland Cavaliers return home and are looking to force a Game 7 against the defending-champion Golden State Warriors.
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving bounced back from a tough loss in Game 4, both scoring 41 points in Game 5 to become the first duo to score more than 40 in the same NBA finals game. After a tight first half, the Cavaliers pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 112-97 win.
Klay Thompson led the way for the Warriors in Game 5 with a strong first half, but he and the rest of the team went cold in the fourth quarter in the loss. Thompson finished with 37 points, while Stephen Curry scored 25 points on 8-of-21 shooting.
Golden State defeated Cleveland in six games last season for its first NBA title in 30 years. The Cavaliers have never won an NBA title.
