Report: Knicks have discussed trading for Derrick Rose
The Knicks have had internal discussions about trading for Bulls point guard Derrick Rose, ESPN’s Ian Begley reports.
The 27-year-old point guard is coming off a 2015–16 campaign that saw him average 16.4 points and 4.7 assists on 42.7 percent shooting in 66 games. His contract is set to expire at the end of next season.
New York has long been searching for a starting point guard, currently deploying veteran Jose Calderon at the position. They acquired 23-year-old Jerian Grant in a draft-day trade with the Hawks last season, who averaged 5.6 points and 2.3 assists in 16.6 minutes during his rookie campaign.
Rose has a long injury history, missing half of the Bulls’ regular season games over the past four years with a variety of problems.
