HAYWARD, Calif. (AP) A small plane crashed on commuter train tracks in the San Francisco Bay Area, killing the pilot and disrupting train service.

Bay Area Rapid Transit spokeswoman Denise Gonzalez says the Cessna aircraft crashed near the transit system's transfer tracks in Hayward, east of San Francisco.

That ignited a fire and interrupted service around noon Sunday, hours before Game 7 of the NBA Finals in nearby Oakland.

Gonzalez says no other injuries have been reported.

Service stopped at three stations along a nearly 9-mile section of the Fremont line, but all of them reopened by 3 p.m.
