Kings guard Marco Belinelli, who Sacramento agreed to send to the Hornets on draft night, broke his jaw in an exhibition game between Italy and Canada on Sunday, Sportando reports.
Belinelli will continue to train with the Italian national team in Turin this week as it gets ready for Olympic qualifiers, though it is unknown if he will compete in the Rio games.
Last week, the Kings acquired the No. 22 pick in the draft, which they used on Syracuse guard Malachi Richardson, from Charlotte in exchange for Belinelli. The trade can’t be processed until the start of the NBA’s salary cap year on July 7.
The nine-year veteran averaged 10.2 points and 1.9 assists in 68 games last season.
