Tim Duncan has exercised his player option for next season but is not committed to playing another year, reports The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowkski.

The Spurs star chose to accept his $5.6 million option for 2016–17, but is still contemplating retirement, according to the report.

Duncan, 40, struggled at times last season, playing the fewest games in a non-lockout season of his career. Duncan averaged career lows in points, rebounds and minutes, and those numbers dropped during the playoffs.

The Spurs, who were ousted by the Thunder in the West semifinals, are reportedly letting Duncan make the decision on his own timeline.

Duncan, who has spent his entire career in San Antonio, has won five NBA championships, three Finals MVPs and two regular season MVPs.
