Nicolas Batum will remain with the Hornets thanks to a five-year deal worth $120 million, according to The Vertical.
Batum averaged 14.9 points and 6.1 rebounds in his first season with the Hornets, after spending the first seven years of his career with the Trail Blazers.
The small forward played in 70 games for Charlotte last season and served as the team’s number two scoring option behind Kemba Walker as the team amassed a 48-34 record, but lost to the Miami Heat in the opening round of the playoffs.
The French wing is one of several players to line up sizable contracts in the opening hours of free agency, with DeMar Derozan, Andre Drummond and Bradley Beal all reportedly nearing agreements worth more than $100 million as well.
