Restricted free-agent forward Harrison Barnes is expected to sign a four-year max offer sheet with the Dallas Mavericks when he is allowed to on July 7, ESPN’s Marc Stein reports.
The Warriors will then have the option to match the offer, or let Barnes walk. Early on Friday morning, the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey reported that Golden State intended to match any offer for Barnes.
Barnes, the No. 7 pick in the 2012 draft, has spent his entire four-year career with the Warriors. He averaged 11.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game last season, but is coming off a disappointing postseason that saw him shoot just 38.5% from the field.
