Sidney Lowe, Tony Brown join Scott Brooks' Wizards staff
WASHINGTON (AP) Former NBA head coach Sidney Lowe and interim coach Tony Brown have been hired as assistants to Scott Brooks with the Washington Wizards.
The Wizards announced Tuesday that Chad Iske, Mike Terpstra and Maz Trakh also will be assistants to Brooks.
Brooks replaced the fired Randy Wittman after the team failed to make the playoffs last season, finishing 41-41 and 10th in the Eastern Conference.
Brown will be Brooks' top assistant after working for the Nets the past two seasons, including 45 games as their interim head coach. He's also been an assistant with seven other NBA clubs.
Lowe coached the Grizzlies for two-plus seasons and also was an assistant elsewhere, most recently the Timberwolves. He played on of North Carolina State's 1983 NCAA championship team and was the school's head coach from 2006-11.
