It appears Nick Young had a very close call with a firework this weekend at a Fourth of July party he threw at his house in Los Angeles.
TMZ obtained video of the incident, in which Young picked up a lit firework off the ground and it exploded in his hand. He was unhurt, luckily.
The near-accident comes a year after Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul seriously injured his hand in a fireworks-related incident at his home in Florida. Part of his hand was amputated, and the injury nearly ended his career.

Young, 31, averaged 7.3 points as a reserve last season. He has spent the last two years with the Lakers.
