The Hornets have agreed to a deal with free-agent center Roy Hibbert worth $5 million over one year, The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Wojnarowski reported earlier Monday that Charlotte was trying to trade center Spencer Hawes to clear enough salary cap space to sign Hibbert or Zaza Pachulia. Pachulia is reportedly headed to the Warriors.
Hibbert, 29, played last season with the Lakers after being acquired in a trade with the Pacers. He started all but one game for Los Angeles, averaging 5.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. On a per-36-minute and per-100-possession basis, he averaged career-lows in points, rebounds and blocks.
Former Hornets center Al Jefferson has reportedly agreed to sign with the Pacers.
